What's that orange square I see around the site ?

THE orange square on the site means that by clicking on it you can subscribe to what is known as an RSS feed.

Great! you say. What's an RSS feed?

An RSS feed is a technical way of saying that there is new information available, in our case new properties for sale, that you can choose to have delivered automatically to your web browser. You just need to tell us you want to receive these regular updates by clicking on the orange square.

Most people visit the same sites on a regular basis. To see the latest information from all of these sites they need to visit each one in turn.

Imagine if you didn't have to visit each site individually.

Wouldn't it be good if all the latest information from your favourite sites was delivered to your browser everytime something new is added to them?

For example, let's say that premierfrenchproperty.com is a site that you like to visit a couple of times a week.

You visit it because you want to catch up on the latest properties for sale in the Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne.

premierfrenchproperty.com is designed so that you can get news of all our latest properties sent to you as they are added to the site.

All you have to do is click on the orange square.

When you do this a web page opens and you'll see a title something like 'Latest Properties from Premier French Property'.

Look above the title and you'll see that orange square again at the top of the page.

At this point, you'll need to choose what's known as a reader.

When new information, in our case a new property, is added to a website it is stored in a gobbledygook that a reader can easily understand but is hard for most of us humans to.

You can choose from a number of different readers such as Google Reader, MyYahoo or Bloglines.

They all do the same job so there's no compelling reason to choose one over the other. And don't worry. Nothing is installed or downloaded to your computer.

In order to use a reader you need to sign up for it. So, you'll need an account on either Google, MyYahoo or Bloglines.

If you don't have an account with any of these already, no problem. Just click the Subscribe Now button.

You'll be taken through a very simple sign-up process.

And from now on to see what's new on our site and on all your other favourite sites you simply log on to your reader and any new updates will automatically appear.

Hey presto! All the news from all your favourite sites in one web browser.

If you have any problems subscribing to our latest information please don't hesitate to contact us.
