AFTER a stable in August, french property asking prices dropped by 0.2% in September according to the latest figures from SeLoger.
Sure, some ares bounced back temporarily, including the Dordogne where the mood was bouyant and the agencies were busy again.
With regard to city prices, during the last quarter those being asked by vendors were up 6.14% in Briancon, 3.53% in Boulogne-sur-Mer, 3.53% in Toulouse and 1.64% in Nice.
In Paris (-0.2%) and Lyon (-0.4%), recovery is still a long way off. In Montpellier (-1.5%), La Rochelle (-7.5%), Avignon (-3.61%) and Le Havre (-2.5%), the trend remains bearish.
Other negative signs in French cities are that rents have been dropping over the last last three months. This is the case at Troyes (3.51%), Aix-en-Provence (2.81%), Paris (-1.47%) and Montpellier (-1.4%).
Buyers remain cautious.
