Photo: Cave d'EymetAfter your move to south-west France, and a more relaxed and enjoyable way of life presents itself, you may want to explore the extremely enjoyable world of French wines, and there’s no better place to start than at Cave d’Eymet – one of Bergerac’s premier, independent wine shops.
Selling a mouth-watering selection of delicious Bergerac and Duras wines, some of which are organic, as well as many other interesting wines from different areas of France, Cave d’Eymet offers the discerning customer a taste of the very best.
Currently studying for the qualification of Master of Wine, Mitch O'Sullivan, owner of the Cave, has an undying passion for French wines, seeking out those with a difference and a story to tell. Spending hours with the individual winemakers behind each label, she personally tastes and selects every one destined for her shop, giving no less than 120% of her time to this, her driving passion. Every day, Mitch spends many hours researching, tasting, studying, and visiting wine makers from all over France. And this dedication is evidenced in the wide selection of exquisite wines available for tasting and buying in Cave d’Eymet.
Mitch guarantees excellent value for money with delicious wines starting at just 4€. There’s always a bottle or two open for tasting in the shop, but Mitch is happy to spend as long as you need to discuss your preferences and suggest various wine options. Whether it’s for a wedding, a celebration, a special dinner, or just for your personal collection at home, Cave d’Eymet offers truly excellent customer service, and a wonderful variety of captivating and interesting French wines.
Because French wines are her passion and her expert field of knowledge, Mitch knows there’s always a lot to consider when putting in an order. However, if you’re just after a quick bottle or two for a specific occasion, she can supply exactly what you need in a short time frame with minimum fuss. Alternatively, if you have plenty of time, and wish to consider your order very carefully, there’s virtually nothing Mitch doesn’t know about her wines. Having personally selected and tasted every wine in the shop, she knows the story behind each bottle, and can provide fascinating information about the region the wine was grown, the type of grapes used, the quality of the vintage, and much more.
Mitch does not sell any mass produced wines at Cave d’Eymet, she prefers to focus on quality ‘terrior’ wines made by passionate winemakers from all over France, but especially in the Bergerac and Duras regions. Many of her wines are completely organic for extra flavour and top quality. And if you want to try a sip or two, you can sign up for one of her extremely enjoyable wine trips in the Cave, or you can ask to arrange a wine tour in the region, or a visit to a vineyard. If you want a private wine tasting session then it’s no trouble – even at short notice, either at the Cave or in your own home.
